Adult Therapy
Individual therapy can help you understand your feelings and emotions and help you address challenges in your life. There are many approaches to therapy and we will work together to find what is right for you.
Therapy starts with building rapport. Building a strong therapeutic alliance is the first step to achieving your goals. Through individual therapy, one can address their thoughts, manage stress, improve interpersonal relationships, identify and change behavior patterns and increase overall functioning and well-being.
Child and Adolescent Therapy
If you are looking for child or adolescent therapy, chances are you have a child who is struggling. There are many different reasons why a child might benefit from therapy. Divorce, school or behavior concerns, peer relationships, mood changes, self-esteem and struggling with anxiety are just a few. I enjoy working with children and teens of all ages.
I do my best to promote an engaging environment that builds off of their interests. Each session will likely look different, depending on the goals for therapy and how each child responds. My approach is to intertwine traditional talk therapy with both structured and unstructured activities and games that promote the practice of new skills and independence. The goal for each session is to be both productive and fun.
Family Therapy
Most families can benefit from family therapy. And therapy can look different depending on your needs. I have been working with families for many years and one thing I have learned is that every family is individual and there is no cookie cutter way to approach any one issue. Together, we can determine the best approach for your family.
How can family therapy help?
- Learn how to address conflict and problem solve
- Improve communication with one another
- Strengthen family relationships
- Support each other's differences and strengths
- Support a family member's recovery
- Address behavior concerns or difficulties in school
ADHD Support and Coaching
If you or your child have recently been diagnosed with ADHD or suspect that you may have ADHD, there is a lot of information out there. It can be overwhelming. ADHD support and coaching can help navigate this new information and help you or your child to build the needed tools to succeed. Even if ADHD is not new to you and you have decided you are ready to try another approach, we can discuss your goals and make a plan for how to get there.
